An Iconic First Growth
With a winemaking heritage spanning nearly 800 years, Château Lafite Rothschild stands as one of the most revered estates in Bordeaux. Recognized as a First Growth in the historic 1855 Classification, this legendary Pauillac estate traces its origins back to 1234 and has long been synonymous with excellence, elegance, and longevity.
Spanning 110 hectares, Château Lafite Rothschild produces some of the most sought-after wines in the world. Its Grand Vin, Lafite Rothschild, is renowned for its exquisite aromatics, finesse, and extraordinary aging potential. The estate also crafts an exceptional second wine, Carruades de Lafite, distinguished by its refined structure and approachability, alongside Légende de Pauillac, an elegant expression of the appellation.
Situated at the northern boundary of Pauillac, bordering Saint-Estèphe, the estate’s vineyards are divided into two principal parcels: one dedicated primarily to the Grand Vin, and the other contributing to Carruades de Lafite. The vineyard is planted with approximately 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, a composition that reflects the estate’s commitment to crafting wines of remarkable depth, balance, and complexity.
