The Jewel of Saint-Émilion
With a heritage dating back to at least the 16th century, Château Cheval Blanc is regarded as one of the most illustrious estates in Bordeaux. Situated on the Right Bank, within the esteemed Saint-Émilion appellation, it holds the prestigious distinction of being one of only four wines ranked Premier Grand Cru Classé A in the Saint-Émilion classification.
The estate’s unique terroir is defined by a rare combination of three principal soil types—clay, gravel, and sand—creating the perfect environment for its meticulously cultivated vines. The vineyard is planted with 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot, resulting in wines of remarkable aromatic complexity, displaying floral and smoky nuances with exceptional depth and elegance. Aged exclusively in 100% new oak, Château Cheval Blanc’s wines are known for their finesse, longevity, and extraordinary refinement.
Beyond its legendary Grand Vin, the estate also produces a distinguished second wine, Le Petit Cheval, which debuted with the 1988 vintage. Additionally, Château Cheval Blanc showcases its expertise with a refined white wine, Le Petit Cheval Blanc, crafted primarily from Sauvignon Blanc, with a smaller proportion of Sémillon. This rare white offering adds another dimension to the estate’s exceptional portfolio.
